Undefeated Soul Youth FC storm to the title

Emdad Rahman

Soul Youth FC proved irresistible as the Tower Hamlets-based club marched to the BFA Sumner League Premier Division title. The achievement is altogether more remarkable considering that Soul Youth FC went undefeated throughout the campaign with eight wins and one draw. Add to this the fact that this is a debut Premier Division outing for Soul Youth FC after being promoted last season.

Top scorer for the team was Donald Bushi and key players were Kadir Jama, Ashaan Saddik of Sporting Bengal and Mohammed Bettamer, who is now playing at Staines Town.

Manager Shipon Miah said, “It’s been a dream season for us and our achievements will remain long in the memory for many years. What is extra special is the way my team not only kept up the momentum after winning promotion, but bridged the gap in terms of quality after stepping up a league. With two of our players playing higher level football this is testament to the quality we have shown throughout.”
