Barking Madina Masjid supports Ummah Welfare Trust

The UK-based humanitarian charity Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT) organised an assembly at Madina Masjid, Barking & Dagenham, as part of a Syria children’s appeal.

Earlier this year staff and volunteers at Ummah Welfare Trust had launched an Eid bag appeal, during which generous donors were handed a bag to fill up with toys. An overwhelming number of members of the local public took the bag home and as a family they filled the bag with new toys and clothes as a present for the children of Syria.

Coach and headteacher Arshad Khan took over 200 bags just for his supplementary class students at Barking Mosque. The assembly was UWT’s way of saying thank you to the parents, children, mosque committee and coach Arshad Khan.
