Bethnal Green Library to close for refurbishment

Residents can look forward to better facilities at Bethnal Green Library as it undergoes a temporary closure for essential works to take place. The grade II listed building in Cambridge Heath Road will have a new heating system installed and the library will be refurbished.

The upgrades are part of Tower Hamlets Council’s programme of investment in the Idea Stores and libraries and will be carried out over the next six months. The works will include an upgraded adult reading space, children’s library, surfing space and improved free WiFi.

The library will be temporarily closed from Monday, 20th April until the end of September 2015. During this time, residents will be able to access the full range of library, learning and information services from nearby Idea Store Whitechapel (321 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1BU) and Idea Store Bow (1 Gladstone Place, Roman Road, London E3 5ES).

Readers can access a wide range of online services and regular updates on the works via:
