Brutal polling day attack injures OAP dog walker

Police believe an Asian man walking his dog near the Greenway, E6, could have vital information which could help find a vicious thug who broke the jaw of an 81 year old man last Thursday.

Samuel Cooper went out to walk his dog on the Greenway, next to Newham High Street South, on 8th June. At around midday, a white man, aged around 30 year and of stocky build, approached Mr Cooper. The man had short dark hair an short stubble. He was wearing dark jeans and a short sleeved top.

The man began shouting at Mr Cooper, including telling him to keep his dog on a lead. He then tried to bite Mr Cooper on the face, but failed – at which point he then punched Mr Cooper, leaving him unconscious on the ground. Mr Cooper was taken to an East London hospital, where he was found that his jaw was broken in two places. He underwent treatment to reconstruct the jaw.

The thug who caused such damage to a vulnerable old person must be caught before he does further, possibly even more serious, damage to an innocent member of the community.

Police have appealed to the public for help in finding the suspect. In particular they want to find an Asian man who was also out walking a dog at around the same time as the attack took place.
