THE EAST LONDON MOSQUE Trust (ELMT) has announced that it is has appointed Nozmul Hussain as its Chief Executive Officer. Nozmul will commence his duties on 2nd October. He will play a key role in the organisation’s continued development and growth.
Nozmul brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously served as CEO of The Community Foundation in Birmingham and Partnership Director at Walsall Council. Before moving to the West Midlands he spent 13 years in Tower Hamlets, working for various council departments at a senior level.
Nozmul said, “I am absolutely elated to be given the opportunity to be Chief Executive of the East London Mosque Trust. I am very much looking forward to working with the staff and trustees to build upon the great reputation of East London Mosque and to deliver exemplary services for all our stakeholders.
“I intend to bring a fresh outlook to the way we do business and deliver services. My aim is to make East London Mosque and the London Muslim Centre a centre of excellence that is responsive to the social, education and spiritual needs of the community locally and nationally.”
The Chair of the ELMT, Muhammad Habibur Rahman, said, “We have appointed Nozmul Hussain who will be tasked with leading the development and successful implementation of our new strategic plan, to make our vision a reality. Nozmul’s knowledge of the challenges and opportunities we have, along with his experience of local government work across different administrations and his work in the third sector, are an ideal fit for his role.”
