Man sought after violent assault in Redbridge

IT WAS AROUND 2am on Sunday, 22nd October when the emergency services received a report that a man had been injured near a Marks & Spencer supermarket in George Lane, Woodford.

The Ambulance Service and found an unconscious 30 year old man with head injuries. Paramedics took him to hospital and although his injuries appear very serious and the result of a very violent assault he has begun to recover and has been able to leave hospital.

The police also attended and established that the injured man had been attacked and that the suspected attacker had been seen walking off towards South Woodford station and then getting into a grey car and leaving the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man, around 5ft 7ins tall, with short hair that was longer on top. He was wearing a dark top and dark jeans. Police are trying to identify him so they can find him and speak to him.

Police also believe that a small group of teenagers witnessed the attack and may have recorded the attack on their phones. It is believed that these teenagers drove away from the scene in a black car.
