Missing person: can you help?

Police are keen to hear from missing man James Matthews (Jimmy), aged 51yrs, who was reported missing on 6th July by friends he was staying with in Hackney. He has not been seen by them since 22nd June. James has strong links to Rugby and police have received reports of recent sightings of him in that area. It is also possible that he has returned to Hackney. He is a black man, aged 51, of slender build, 5ft 8” tall. He speaks with an English accent.

Hackney Police are appealing for James to contact them either in person, or by telephone on 101 quoting reference number 14MIS023820 to confirm that he is safe and well. Alternatively James can attend any local police station. Police stress that we will not share any information concerning James’s whereabouts with any third party: they simply need to know that he is okay.

Anyone who is in contact with James should either ask him to get in touch with police or call themselves on 101 asking for Hackney Missing Persons Unit. Alternatively, call Missing People on 116000.
