National hunt for missing Newham girl

A MISSING 16 year old Newham girl could be anywhere in the country. She was last seen getting into a vehicle that drove to Telford in the West Midlands and police are now very concerned for her welfare.

Katherine Mateus is a young black woman whose home address is in Manor Park. She is described as 5ft 4ins tall, of  medium build, with tied back hair. When she was last seen she was wearing white trousers and a black top with a black and white checked shirt underneath.

Katherine was last seen in Gladding Road at approximately 2pm on Thursday, 17th August. She was getting into a red Citroen C3 with the vehicle registration DL17HKK – which, investigating police have established, drove to Telford later that day.

If Katherine is in the West Midlands, she will probably be well away from her friends and immediate circle of people she knows. Can you pass this request around your social media contacts in the West Midlands to increase awareness of her in that area?

If you have seen Katherine or have any other information on her whereabouts, please phone Forest Gate CID on 020-8217 5820 or the charity Missing People. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
