Roman Rd “acid attack”: man charged

TWO YOUNG MEN were attacked in Roman Road on 25th July. A liquid was thrown at them, which the emergency services helped them wash off at the scene before they were taken to hospital for further treatment.

Rahad Hussain, 23, of no fixed abode was arrested on 27th July. He was charged on 28th July with two counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of an offensive weapon (acid used in the attack).

Hussain was due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on 29th July.
