#SaveAhmad campaign hits target in two hours

ahmad 4The British charity Human Relief Foundation (HRF) has a group of volunteers currently assisting needy Syrian refugees in the Zaatari camp in Jordan. During the course of their relief work the team met Ahmad Mansour, a five month old baby who needs open heart surgery within the next 7 days. His situation is critical. As his heart was failing, doctors made an opening in his heart to help blood circulation. However, this hole is closing and they fear he may die.

Treatment for this condition is a free and straightforward procedure in the UK. In Jordan, it costs £10,650 and has a 95% success rate.

ahmad 2HRF team leader Khoyrul Shaheed and his colleagues launched an overnight appeal with a plan to raise the full amount within 24 hours. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the British and global public, the amount was surpassed with ease within two hours.

Khoyrul Shaheed said, “I’m lost for words and I just don’t know how to thank everyone who has supported this appeal. It is a demonstration of the power of good. Thanks to you we can now Save Ahmad. I pray that you are all blessed abundantly.”

The campaign is still running despite reaching its target to enable HRF to support other needy families.
