Breaking news: Duck – Donald’s made it

Reports from the USA say that a number of “unbound” delegates have just announced that they will give their votes to Donald Trump. The announcement, if confirmed, will give Trump enough delegates to win the nomination to be the Republican candidate for US president.

The rise of Trump has been shocking. It’s been shocking that so many US citizens have such a shallow and simplistic view of politics. It’s been shocking to think that the world will have to re-live the Reagan years: there are usually serious consequences when there’s a right wing buffoon in the White House.

Perhaps Europe needs to prepare for a new influx of refugees next year – but not from the East, from the West…
