RESIDENTS FROM Upney in Barking arranged a coach trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Two chartered coaches left from the Hedgecock Community Centre packed with almost 100 young people and their families.
Organised by the Hedgecock Community Centre Ltd (HCC) in partnership with Barking Youth Link (BYL), the trip was subsidised for young people who are regular participants in local youth projects.
Rayyan, a young participant and volunteer for HCC, said, “it was so much fun going as a group to Chessington. We really enjoyed it and look forward to more similar activities with HCC and BYL.”
The main organiser, Nazir Ali, a director and management committee member of HCC added, “it’s a great achievement for this area. We’ve managed to pack two coaches full of young people and families. In the future we plan to do more trips and collective community activities such as seaside visits and fruit picking.”
