THE LAST ROUND of night fixtures for The Veterans League (TVL 10) have taken place and all the champions have been confirmed.
Premiership Champions: Beaumont Masters Div 1: London Legends Div 2: Hawk & Eagle Vets Div 3: Bow Vets
Premier The Beaumont Masters have been participating in the Premier Division from TVL 1 and have finally won the title after pipping both SYA Vets and Stepney Legends in the race for the championship. As a mark of how strong the league is, all three times maintained a title push until the very last game. A three-person management team – Aminul Hoque, Rashid Ali and Abdul Gaffer –masterminded the push for the Masters success after starting the season very slowly. It is not surprising that Mohammedan Vets, who were unable to field a full team in several games, were relegated to Division 1.
Division 1 London Legends took the Division 1 title again on the last week of the fixtures, with both Bromley Legends and Weavers pushing them right till the end with only three points separating the top three teams in this division. There were huge celebrations from London Legends as they had narrowly missed promotion last season. The Legends will definitely be a team to look out for in the Premiership next season. At the other end of the table, Abohani Vets have been relegated to Div 2.
Division 2 Hawk & Eagle Vets wrapped up the Division 2 Title early on, with two games to spare, and they look a strong contender for Div 1. H&E were definitely too strong for Div 2, and results reflected that. London Apsa vets finished second and FC Redbridge are now relegated to Div 3.
Division 3 Bow Vets were promoted in their debut season, with fellow newcomers FC Non Athletics finishing second.
Rashid Ali from Beaumont Masters, Vice Chair of the Inner London Football League, commented, “ILFL management would like to thank all 28 teams for making TVL 10 a very successful, competitive, challenging, passionate, exciting and enjoyable season. We look to continue the same next season on TVL 11 with your support and involvement.”
