THE SONALI OTHITH UK Greater Sylhet Upazila Cup 2022 – the biggest footballing extravaganza within the Bangladeshi community in the UK – has been launched.
The event got off to a rousing beginning with a grand gathering of all the Upazila managements and the Sonali Othith UK Executive Committee. Updated rules and regulations were forwarded to all the Upazila representatives beforehand, and comments and suggestions were exchanged at the gathering.
Secretary General Joynal Abdin Miah Gulzar said, “There is no doubt that this is the biggest football tournament within the Bangladeshi community in the UK. “As we enter the eighth year of this competition, it gets bigger every year.”
Players from all over the UK will participate in this prestigious tournament, which will be played on Sunday, 28th August at Mabley Green in Hackney. This year 16 teams will be challenging for the title. The participating teams are: Balagonj Barlekha Beanibazar Bishwanath Chhatak Derai Dakshin Sunamgonj Dakshin Surma Gulapgonj Habigonj Jagannathpur Moulvibazar Sadar Nabigonj Osmani Nagor Rajnagor Sylhet Sadar
