Alam Zaman: Charlie Murray hit a gem of a volley from the edge of the penalty area to keep APSA’s fantastic end of season party going. APSA took all three points at the Old Spotted Dog Ground at east london rivals Clapton FC. With just one more game to go to finish off the season (away at Takeley this coming Saturday), John Higley’s men are finishing on a real high with their sixth win in the last nine games, including a 2-1 away win at top of the table Enfield 1893, and a 4-0  victory last weekend at Basildon United FC. During a nine game run, APSA’s defence has kept an incredible nine clean sheets, with the team picking up nineteen points from a possible twenty seven. APSA have now scored 11 goals since the start of March and conceded just five. Once again goal keeper Steve Brown come to the teams rescue in the second half with a number of top draw saves that stopped the home team from coming back into the match. This all bodes well for APSA, especially if they can keep this young squad together and strengthen it further with a few more signings during the close season.
