Council holds Celebration Evening for foster carers

October 21, 2026

FOSTER AND kinship carers were recognised at a Celebration Evening held by Tower Hamlets Council. Mayor Lutfur Rahman came along to meet carers and add his personal congratulations to those of the Council.

These carers open their homes – and their hearts – to children and young people across Tower Hamlets. The care that they provide helps the young people in their care feel safe, supported and able to thrive. Carers can help their young charges recover from trauma and design a new life for themselves. At the Celebration, the Council handed out long-service awards to carers who have clocked up the longest length of service.

Sadly, the number of foster carers is not enough to meet the needs of all the borough’s young people who need a loving home. If you are interested in becoming a foster carer, find out more on the Council website. You could change the lives of young people in need.
