Delivery driver suffers violent robbery

A DELIVERY DRIVER on a moped was attack and robbed by a group of youths as he drove along Ronnie Lane, E12 in Newham. The incident happened at around 6.30pm last Thursday, 5th April.

The 23 year old driver was approached by a group of white teenagers who dragged him off his moped and attacked him. The driver suffered stab injuries to the body and leg. The victim was taken to an East London hospital. His injuries were not life threatening and he was discharged after treatment.

The youths, thought to be around 15 years old, took his mobile and moped and seem to have made off down Lawrence Road.

DC Jon Saddington from Newham CID said, “This was a brutal attack which left the victim suffering from severe injuries whilst simply carrying out his day-to-day job. His injuries could have easily been a lot worse and I am keen to hear from anyone who has information to help us identify the suspects.”
