Four in lucky escape after Beckton Flyover crash

THE EMERGENCY SERVICES were called out at 3.40am on Monday, 1st July by reports that there had been a collision on the westbound side of the Beckton flyover. Fortunately, when they arrived they found that no one had suffered serious injury.

One of the vehicles was a van, the driver of which sustained only minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.

The other vehicle was a VW Golf. Its male driver and two female passengers were taken to hospital. One of the passengers was admitted for treatment of her injuries, which were not life-threatening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and help them piece together the circumstances of the accident.
