A POLICE OFFICER has been dismissed without notice from the Metropolitan Police after a misconduct hearing on 23rd April.

The hearing learned that on 3rd September 206, PC Anis Riabi was driving a police motor vehicle in the course of his duty when he caused damage to the nearside wing mirror. He tore a page from his notebook and did not report the damage. When his supervisor spoke to him about the damage, Riabi lied and said he had not driven that vehicle that day.

At the hearing, PC Riabi admitted failing to report the damage to the wing mirror and lying about the damage to a police sergeant. The additional allegations relating to causing damage to the vehicle and log book were found proven.

The panel hearing the case found that this conduct amounted to a breach of standards of professional behaviour in respect of the PC’s duties and responsibilities, honesty and integrity. Accordingly, the panel dismissed PC Riabi without notice.
