On a day of perfect weather Scintilla CC hit top form to see off Ace CC in an Essex County Cricket League clash at The London Marathon Playing Fields.

The home side batted first and were handed a boost when the classy Ashfaqur Rahaman Nobel struck 51 after opener Ishaq Shawn was dismissed for 9. Hanif Kibria and Captain Ayaz Karim ensured all 45 overs were played, scoring 22 and 18 not out to leave Scintilla on 285. Shabbir Ahmed was the choice Ace bowler with four wickets.

The Scintilla attack made light work of Ace after tea, bowling out the visitors for under 100 runs. Club record wicket taker Aaman Khan took three wickets, Abu Syed Ashraf two and Abul Hasib one as Ace fell for 90 after 17.4 overs. Bilal Ahmed was the top scorer for Ace, with 26. Captain Ayaz Karim and Vice Captain Sajal Rahman shared the honours with two wickets apiece.
