You’ll be over the moooooon at Jack and the Beanstalk, a traditional pantomime with a cosmic twist – coming to Gants Hill later this month. If you haven’t booked your ticket yet, get those fingers clicking on the link below and sort out a few hours of fun for you and yours.
Jack and the Beanstalk is brought to you by the Dragon Theatre Company (originally St. Cedd’s Players), formed in November 1976 by a few friends hoping to put on a pantomime. From humble beginnings it is now a successful company which strives to achieve high standards while remaining a friendly and supportive group. It has a strong social base and is always happy to welcome and encourage new members (whether they’re hoping to participate on or off stage).
The company rehearses on Sundays at 3pm and on Tuesdays at 8pm. It performs four productions a year in the main hall at St. George’s in Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill: a pantomime in January, a musical show in July, and plays in April and October.
Subscriptions are £50 per year (£20 for youth members [16-18]). The Group is run by an elected Committee (which has the right to reserve membership). Committee meetings are held monthly and a newsletter is issued to keep members informed.
Feel inspired? The Dragons Group would love to meet you. Check out their website now – or have a word at the panto. Seriously, folks: if you have any teenage aspiring university students in your household, involvement with something like the Dragons is just what they need to make their UCAS forms (university applications) sparkle and stand out from the crowd – without encroaching into their home work time.
