THE LEFTLEY SPORTS CLUB has announced a launch date to showcase the activities of the organisation to the community in Barking & Dagenham.
Leftley Sports Club is run exclusively by volunteers and was formed as a result of a group of local residents on the Leftley Estate coming together to promote health in the local community.
The Club currently runs sporting activities for women, men and young people every weekend. These include a group walk and talk session, cycling, jogging and “dads & lads” football.
The date for the launch event is Saturday, 17th March 2018, 2-4 pm, at the Hedgecock Community Centre in Upney Lane.
As a health and lifestyle association, Leftley Sports Club is open to everybody. Activities are free and do not require any signing up. All participants are advised to dress sports-appropriately and have essentials such as medication and water available.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Chair Muhammed Ali said, “Leftley Sports Club is run by the community for the community. We are proud with the level of engagement we continue to achieve on a daily basis and this is a big factor in our drive going forward. We look forward to hosting the community at our launch, celebrating what we have achieved and planning ahead.”
