Locals offered pre-development free fitness session

June 23, 2015

A free hour of fitness training is being offered this Saturday, 27th June, (between 11am and 2pm) at Royal Wharf – a site in the Royal Docks which is to be turned into a housing development.

The fitness training will be conducted by “celebrity trainer” Scott Ashley, a resident trainer at Café Royal who has worked with boybands such as Blue and Lawson as well as with a host of models and personalities. Ashley’s HOLIXIR session is designed to improve posture, metabolism, strength and flexibility. It is a holistic body weight workout derived from multiple disciplines. After the session, complimentary healthy drinks and salads by SuperNatural will be offered. Visitors can also chat to Scott, get training tips and find out what makes his specially derived workout so beneficial.

The event seems to be being held in order to promote Royal Wharf. Apparently the buildings in the development – which refers to itself as a “neighbourhood” – will only sit on around half the land, leaving almost 50% open space. The developers, Oxley and Ballymore, hope this will encourage residents to lead a healthy lifestyle and experience a sense of wellbeing. With outside living in mind, the neighbourhood will include a 2.4 acre park, plus numerous pocket parks and garden squares.

Accommodation in the Royal Wharf development will consists of flats of various sizes, including starter properties and townhouses. There will be 3,385 riverside properties, complete with a high street of shops, bars and restaurants. The new community infrastructure will include a school and a 20,000 sq. ft. leisure facility, all with a 500m river frontage.

It has not yet been clarified whether the residential property is for sale or rent.
