HE WAS MURDERED a year ago. Eleven people have been arrested: ten males on suspicion of murder; one woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. All eleven are currently out on bail, in the community.

The police investigation into the murder of Noore Bashir Salad remains open but is making little progress. Police have now appealed for someone to come forward with the evidence which might allow them to charge one of the suspects.

It was just before 9.30pm on 8th April last year when the police heard from the London Ambulance Service that there was an injured man in Church Road, E12. Salad, 22 and from Stratford, had been stabbed and shot. Sadly, despite the best efforts of staff from the London Ambulance Service, he died at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Mike Herrick explained, “Noore was brutally shot and stabbed in the street on this day last year and despite multiple arrests we have yet to charge the murderers. I am hoping that with the passing of a year, someone who didn’t feel they could speak to us as the time of the murder may now feel able to come forward.

“Noore’s murder was savage and intentional. The injuries inflicted were nothing less than catastrophic making it difficult for medics at the scene to even establish whether they were caused by a gun or a knife. Eye witness accounts stated that the killers continued to attack him, even though he was mortally injured.

“The sheer brutality and mindlessness of the violence employed by those responsible makes it vital that they are identified, apprehended and placed before the courts. If you have information please help us to remove these dangerous individuals from your community.

“So often people think that their information is not significant and won’t make a difference, but that is never the case. By gathering evidence and speaking with people at the time of the murder we have built a picture of events leading up to, and immediately following, Noore’s death. Could your information be a missing piece of our picture?”

Anyone who has any information which may assist police is asked to call the incident room on 020-8345 3715. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111 and give information anonymously.
