A POLICE constable who worked in Newham has been dismissed from the Metropolitan Police after an internal disciplinary hearing found him guilty of gross misconduct.

The hearing was told that on 10th August 2015 PC Osaigbovo Obasuyi applied to a finance company for a joint loan in the names of himself and his wife. PC Obasuyi signed his wife’s name on the documents – without her knowledge or approval.

The Chair of the hearing found that PC Obasuyi’s conduct breached the Met’s standards of professional behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity. The Chair found that the forgery was discreditable conduct and amounted to gross misconduct.

PC Obasuyi was dismissed without notice.
