A TEENAGE BOY was shot in Hackney at around 11.15pm on Wednesday, 1st May in Marlborough Avenue, E8 – and now police are looking for two men, one of who is thought to have shot the victim.

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called out to the scene of the shooting. The teen had a gunshot wound to his buttocks and was taken by ambulance to an East London hospital, where it was established that his injuries were not life-threatening. He has since been discharged.

The police began an immediate investigation, which is being led by the Trident and Area Crime Command. They believe that the victim was with a group of other youngsters when two masked men approached them. One of them had a gun, which he discharged at the group. Now investigating officers are calling on the public to help them.

Detective Constable Martin Fortune, the investigating officer from Trident, said, “A young man has been shot by suspects who opened fire in the street. These men are both dangerous and reckless. The actions of these men could have resulted in someone’s death and they need to be caught and the firearm they used taken off the streets.”

Anyone who saw the incident or has any information about it is asked to call police via 101 and quote CAD 8811/01May. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111 and give information anonymously.
