HE WAS JUST 15 years old when he was murdered – after a large scale fight broke out following a birthday party which was held in a community centre in Clockhouse Lane, Romford. Jordan Douherty died at the scene, of a stab wound to the heart.
A fellow teenager was arrested just days later, in Newham, and now he has been charged with murder. He is just 16 years old. The suspect appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court at the end of June, where he was remanded in custody pending an appearance at the Old Bailey.
The murder is being investigated by the Homicide and Major Crime Command, and police continue to appeal to the public for information to help them piece together exactly what happened that night.
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, who is leading the investigation, said, “Response team officers who attended the initial calls were confronted with up to 100 plus youths and I would like to directly appeal to those present to contact police about what they saw and heard to help my team build a clearer picture of what took place. Equally, if you have video footage or images of the violent aftermath to the party, we need to hear from you.”
