The Alzheimer’s Society believes passionately that life doesn’t end when dementia begins – that it’s possible to hold on to your life and to do and experience new things. That’s why the Society is encouraging all supporters to do something new during Dementia Awareness Week. Here’s some ways in which you can spread the word.
Marathon sessions This Friday, 22nd May the first ever 24 hour marathon of back-to-back Dementia Friends Information Sessions will be taking place. From 10am on Friday to 10am on Saturday, 23rd May, Dementia Friends Champions across the country will be running Information Sessions – throughout the night and the early hours of the morning! If you’re not a Dementia Friend yet, why not book up on one of the Sessions? https://www.dementiafriends.org.uk/WEBNewsStory?storyId=a0B2000000cO35eEAC&utm_campaign=Dementia+Friends+May+Newsletter&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=#.VVrcq-29LCS
Become a Dementia Friend or Champion Do something new and become a Dementia Friend for Dementia Awareness Week, if you aren’t one already! A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it’s like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. From helping someone to find the right bus to spreading the word about dementia on social media, every action counts. https://www.dementiafriends.org.uk/?utm_campaign=Dementia+Friends+May+Newsletter&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=#.VVrcyu29LCQ
