EMDAD RAHMAN has completed ten British 10ks in a row after taking part in the iconic London capital city run on Sunday.

The Virgin Sport British 10k London run is described as a street party and the ultimate foot tour of London’s finest sights – Trafalgar Square, the Embankment and Big Ben – with entertainers, musicians, DJs, volunteers and cheering lining the race route.

Emdad ran the race with his son Ismael, who was taking part in the acclaimed capital city run for the very first time. The dynamic duo ran in aid of the excellent support services provided by the Whitechapel Mission for London’s homeless.

Emdad said, “We had a couple of injury issues agonisingly flare up within the first 100 metres, but there was no way we were pulling out. It wasn’t my usual carefree run, and the amazing memory of running with my son is one I’ll cherish.

“Reaching ten in a row is a major personal milestone for me and I’ll continue to run for the Whitechapel Mission in the future. The work that Sue and Tony Miller put into support homeless friends is staggering, and I get inspiration every time I see them.”

Both Emdad and Ismael have almost reached their £500 target and thanked friends for their “amazing generosity and support.”

The Whitechapel Mission has been helping Londoners to help the homeless since 1876, meeting the specific needs of each man and woman who walks through its doors. Although is is a small organisation, as many as 300 people a day look for assistance at the Mission.
