WHAT WILL our “new normal” look like? To inform our debate, our “thoughts” this month will feature quotes from iconoclasts who want to see freedom, equality and justice for the many.
Adam Smith, sometime referred to as the “father of economics” (and/or recognised as one of the first people to defend capitalism in writing), rather gave the game away with this statement, trashing the idea that government is neutral. Smith is the establishment, rather than the iconoclast: can we substitute his idea of Government for the “government for the many” recently advocated by Jeremy Corbyn?
