AN 81 year old man withdrew some money from a cash point outside Sainsbury’s on Green Lanes, Clissold Park, N4 on Saturday, 12th July. As he walked home, he was robbed. Police have now released pictures of a woman they wish to identify, find and interview in connection with this robbery.

A woman had come up to this elderly victim as he was still by the machine. She began talking to him and then followed him as he walked off, heading for home. He told her to go away, but she continued to follow him.

As the man turned off the main road, she grabbed his shoulder back. After a struggle she managed to get his wallet from the bag and then ran off. The wallet contained the man’s bank cards and £50 in cash.

Detective Constable Mike Bradley, who is investigating, said, “The woman in this case has brazenly targeted an elderly man as he used a mobility frame to walk back to his home. He has been left shaken as a result of this incident and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible to ensure no-one else is subject to a similar crime. We would urge anyone who recognises the woman in this picture or who may have seen what happened that day to come forward and speak to us.”

●Anyone with information about the woman in these pictures should call the police via 101 and quote reference Cad 4470/12Jul. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111 and give information anonymously.
