CRICKETER Yuvraj Singh attended a charity event hosted by Mackenzie Homes to support his NGO – The YouWeCan Foundation. The event was hosted at the Centenary Hall, Caldicott Preparatory School in Berkshire, with proceeds going to the YouWeCan Foundation.

BBC broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli conducted a conversation with Yuvraj, who spoke about his personal journey of dealing with cancer with a never say die spirit and returning to cricket. Yuvraj said, “It is an honour to be here and also a privilege to open my heart out and share my personal journey from a cancer fighter to a survivor with everyone present here today. I will feel fortunate even if I can motivate people to never give up and to continue to chase their dreams no matter how big is the obstacle. I live by two strong beliefs – to never give up and if one falls, one should get up and do it again.”

Yuvraj also spoke about making his YouWeCan Foundation sustainable with the recent launch of his fashion label brand YWC fashion. Yuvraj launched the YouWeCan Foundation charitable organisation in 2012. It helps cancer patients and survivors to get access to the right treatment, including raising funds for poor patients. The Foundation also supports survivors through the rehabilitation process and creating a better life for themselves without having to live in the shadow of the disease. The focus is to educate the masses so that nobody fights cancer alone, and towards creating awareness and eradicating the socio-psychological stigma attached with cancer.

YWC Fashion has a diverse collection featuring clothing for men, women and children of all ages. The label features The Gold Line, a collaboration with celebrated designers Shantanu & Nikhil and The Core Line, which is all about everyday trends and reinventing activewear.

Yuvraj has played well in the recent matches between India and Pakistan, as well as with South Africa. He mingled with the guests, sharing stories and personal insights, as well as anecdotes from the 2011 World Cup.

YWC recently launched its new Spring-Summer collection which is now available on: http://www.jabong.com/men/clothing/ywc/  and https://www.ywcfashion.com
