THE EAST LONDON Mosque (ELM) has reported that the annual Trek 4 Your Mosque, which took place from 7-9th August was a great success. Forty-four brothers took part in this weekend, raising over £21,300 for the ELM.
The weekend was not just about fundraising. It was a chance for the brothers to step outside their normal routines and experience a weekend of faith and brotherhood as they completed their trek through the beautiful but challenging Stiperstones in Shropshire. There were daily reflections but there was also time to relax – during shared meals, games and activities, and sharing time with each other.
Tozommul Ali, Fundraising & Marketing Manager for the Mosque, congratulated the participants for their dedication, which he said had “been really inspiring.” He added, “To see so many go above and beyond in support of our beloved masjid reflects the incredible spirit of this community. We are immensely proud of the efforts and commitment shown by the brothers, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements later this month.”
Shaykh Anis, Imam of ELM, added, “This weekend was about much more than the challenge itself. It gave the brothers an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, spend time in reflection, and strengthen their connection with Allah. Through the reminders, meaningful conversations and shared moments in the beauty of nature, the trek became a memorable experience of brotherhood, reflection and spiritual renewal ”
