EAST LONDONER EMDAD RAHMAN and #bookbikeondon – his social enterprise project –have featured in a national book of hope in recognition of his outstanding volunteering services to the greater community.

One Hundred Reasons To Hope by Danielle Brown MBE is a book of gratitude for the inspiration of the late Sir Captain Tom Moore and a celebration of incredible everyday heroes from across the country.

Captain Sir Tom Moore captured the hearts of the nation, as he walked 100 laps of his garden to raise money for the NHS. He wished to celebrate many other inspirational stories from this uncertain time, and with his blessing these 100 stories make a book of hope for the future.

These beautifully illustrated true stories of everyday heroes across the nation, written by Paralympian Danielle Brown MBE, show just how extraordinarily well people can work together. These are testimonies of courage and community, of everyday kindness and perseverance. With lively and engaging illustrations, these are narratives that will help people hope that tomorrow will be a good day.

Speaking of his inclusion Emdad said, “It was humbling and lovely at the same time to receive the finished article, and I am very flattered by my caricature. Sharing books is a great way for me to meet my community and witness the real nitty gritty of my neighbourhood. #bookbikelondon has helped build bridges and bring people together while promoting togetherness. Thank you Danielle and the team. This is just the boost I need to push on for 5,000 books by Christmas. Bookbike London is powered by the people!”

“For all those finding it difficult: the sun will shine on you again and the clouds will go away. Remember that tomorrow will be a good day.” Captain Sir Tom Moore

Inspired by, and with the blessing of one man and his walking frame, a £1 donation will be made to The Captain Sir Tom Foundation for all hardback print sales in the UK and Ireland. The Captain Tom Foundation was created to inspire hope where it is needed most: combating loneliness, helping those facing bereavement, and supporting hospices – and this book celebrates the spirit of this amazing achievement.
