Latest Hackney murder: man arrested

DETECTIVES conducting a murder hunt following the killing of Daniel Frederick have made a fresh appeal to the public for information – as they make their first arrest.

Frederick, 34, was found in the evening of 8th January, outside Burns House in Shakespeare Walk – suffering from stab wounds. He was quickly taken to an East London hospital, but sadly he died later that night.

On Wednesday, 10th January a 26 year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to an East London police station – but has since been released as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Paul Considine, who is leading the investigation, said, “While we have made an arrest, this investigation continues at pace, and work continues to identify all those involved in this attack on Daniel. This was a senseless attack and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Shakespeare Walk around the time of the incident to contact police and provide us with any information that could assist this investigation.”
