One Run: a global event for everyone!

October 31, 2020

ON HUMAN RIGHTS DAY this year, One Run Global are uniting thousands of people from 195 countries as they run, walk or move their body for one hour to raise funds to end child discrimination.

Whether it’s running a 10k in your local park with friends or walking around the dinner table due to lockdown restrictions, everyone is invited.

“2020 has been filled with extraordinary events, stories of inequality, injustice and hardship. We’re coming together to show the world that love is a human right and no child should be hated for who they are,” explained One Run Co-Founder Danny Bent.

“We welcome every country, every age, every ability, every gender, Every Human… with open arms. This isn’t about being fit or getting a personal best. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never run – what matters is showing up and taking part in whatever way you are able.”

The One Run Global Challenge takes place from 7pm-8pm at your local time, on Human Rights Day, 10th December. As participants begin to move in their time zone, the One Run Map will light up, burning bright with a wave of positivity. Their five charity partners are Unicef, No Bully, NOH8 Campaign, Do Something and Know Your Rights Camp.

Co-Founder Danny Benr commuted, “I absolutely love running. When life feels a bit upside down, or my head is too busy, I turn to running to find answers, to experience quiet, to take therapy. My life is centred around the love and support the running community has given me. It’s brought unlikely friendships, joy and love. During lockdown, the smile and hello of a runner going past in the opposite direction (of course 2m apart) has felt like a bolt of happiness straight to my heart. It’s this feeling that motivates me to bring everyone that same joy and happiness. Now more than ever we need the running community.”

Backed by a whole host of inspirational individuals such as Tom Daley, Mayim Bialik and Billy Porter, One Run is more than just a run. The event aims to unite #EveryHuman for change, encouraging participants, partners, artists and celebrities to join together and raise over $1 million for causes that unite humanity and stop injustice and inequality against children.
