POLICE ARE appealing to the public for help as they investigate the death of a man at a residential address in Cross Road, Chadwell Heath. He has been named as Melvin Trotman, 37, from Sheffield.
Police were called out to the property at 10.20pm on 27th May after reports that there had been a fight. When police and the London Ambulance Service arrived, they found a man, later identified as Mr Trotman, who was unconscious. He was taken to hospital but died there two days later.
The death was initially treated as “unexplained”. A 25 year old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since been released on bail while the investigation continues. It is understood that the two men were known to each other.
