A POLICE CONSTABLE based in Hackney has been sentenced by Westminster Magistrates’ Court to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community service. The sentence follows his conviction for assault by beating at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on 9th February.

PC Kashif Mahmood, 29, was charged after an incident at a police cordon at the junction of Almack Road and Powerscroft Road last May, during which a man sustained a cut to his head.

PC Mahmood remains in work, but on restricted duties. The Metropolitan Police will now begin misconduct proceedings against him.
