Scintilla CC enjoyed a double win last weekend but fell short as the senior team faced a Premier League loss to rivals Barking CC.
Scintilla Seconds faced Bow Green and Cosmo combined at West Ham Park. Scintilla forfeited the toss and fielded first. Bow Green scored 220 all out with Ian Burchell the top scorer with 63. Jahidul Jumon took three wickets with Adil, Shohag taking two and Shaha Riadh one.
The chief tormentor was, again, Jumon – who was top scorer with 81 not out and was named man of the match. Yasin scored 75 and Ebrahim 22. Captain Shaha Riadh said, “The spirit amongst the team is tremendous and we feel that we are capable of top performances with bat and ball. This is a great win for us.”
In the Sunday National Cricket League fixture, Scintilla made it two out of three wins as Scintilla beat Eleven Star. Ayaz Karim’s men scored 259 all out from 36.1 overs, with Aminul Shihan scoring 90 and Zisan Abedin 54. Abedin has now scored four half centuries for his club this season. Touhid contributed 31.
Eleven Star responded with 102 all out from 25.1 overs, with Imran scoring 20 and Talha 28. Scintilla won by 157 runs.
The win takes Scintilla into second place behind Supernova. Captain Ayaz Karim said, “It was great to bouncing back after our ECCL loss to Barking. It is a sign of a good team when they are able to bounce back so positively.”
