July is South Asian Heritage Month in Tower Hamlets

SOUTH ASIAN Heritage Month honours the histories, cultures, and contributions of South Asian communities to British life. It will be celebrated in Tower Hamlets with a range of events.

The 2026 theme is Unity in Diversity, highlighting the shared cultures, histories, and communities of South Asia and its diaspora. At a time when far-right rhetoric is creeping into the mainstream media, we need to fight back with some positive images.

The programme of activities in Tower Hamlets includes performance, comedy, music, film screenings, heritage walks, talks, and community activity.
