A GENEROUS businessperson has donated his profits to support the humanitarian work being delivered by the Ummah Welfare Trust in Syria.
Jahirul Islam, the owner of Amma’s Kitchen in Ponders End, north London, responded to the appeal and over the course of a weekend of trading donated all his profits towards the cause.
The community responded to the appeal and boosted business to play their part in raising a significant total to help the suffering people of Syria. The donation in total amounted to £2,107 and the money will go towards UWT’s Syria Winter Appeal. These funds will support poor families in Syria through the distribution of winter packs, fuel supplies, blankets and medical aid.
As temperatures continue to plummet, six million displaced Syrians huddled under tarpaulins or in broken homes will be ill equipped to deal with the freezing conditions.
UWT fundraiser Md Imran said, “Ummah Welfare Trust’s Syria Winter campaign will provide fuel, food, clothing, and blankets to thousands of these besieged and displaced families. We rely on the goodwill of our community and are thankful to Amma’s Kitchen for such brilliant support.”
The Aishah campaign will deliver supplies to families in Homs, Dera’a, Ghouta, Qalamoun, Deirdre Ezzor, Idlib and Aleppo.
