Barking FC have dedicated their home fixture against Norwich United to raise money for Barking & Dagenham Mayor Abdul Aziz’s chosen charities: DABD UK and the British Heart Foundation.
Barking Football Club was established in 1880. The team plays at Mayesbrook Park and were formerly at the Vicarage Field. The fixture will take place on 14th April.
Barking FC Chair Rob O Brien commented, “These are important charities to support and the game will definitely be an exciting one with what promises to be a tough match. In this league there are no easy games as we have beaten the top team and lost to the bottom team in the division. Hopefully it’ll be warmer by then and a good day out. We look forward to welcoming everybody.”
Barking & Dagenham Councillor Cameron Geddes added, “I’m so happy to work with the Mayor, Cllr Aziz and his brilliant volunteers and hoping as many people as possible will turn up to support their local team and the charities.”
