The Metropolitan Police have announced that they arrested a 15 year old boy, who lives in east London, on suspicion of encouraging terrorism in contravention of Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006. He was arrested at his home, which is now being searched, just after 8am today, 16th June.
The police have confirmed that the arrest was conducted under the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence (PACE) Act and the that young man is being held in custody at an East London police station while his home is being searched and further inquiries are being made.
No further information has been released.
