Canning Town double shooting: three arrested

THREE PEOPLE have been arrestedicw a double shooting which took place in the early hours of Saturday, 26th October on Thorne Close, near Rogers Road, E16.

Reports that there had been a shooting came in to the emergency services just before 3am. When officers from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service attended, they found two men, aged 25 and 27, with gunshot inuries. Both were taken to hospital, where they received medical treatment. They have since been discharged.

Around six weeks later, on Wednesday, 18th December, detectives from the Specialist Crime Command executed arrest warrants at various addresses across East London and out to Essex. The detectives were supported at the early morning raids by officers from the Firearms Command and Taskforce.

The raids led to two men, aged 16 and 18, being arrested, together with a 27 year old woman. They were held on suspicion of attempted murder, conspirary to commit murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. They are being held in custody.

Detective Inspector David Hickford appeal to the public for assistance. “Two men sustained injuries as a result of being shot,” he said, “and it is vital that we hear from anyone who was in the area that night, and who is yet to speak with officers. I would also ask that you check any dash cam footage to see if you captured the shooting.”
