WERE YOU IN Romford in the early hours of Sunday, 5th November? You may be able to help police get to the bottom of why a vehicle failed to stop, raced away and then overturned, injuring its driver and passengers.
The story began just after 1.30am on 5th November, when police tried to stop a black BMW 730D. The vehicle drove off, with two police cars in pursuit. A couple of minutes later police caught up with the BMW – at Roneo Corner in Rush Green. It had overturned.
There were three people in the BMW. The Ambulance Service came out and took them all to an East London hospital. The driver, a 25 year old male, had injured his back and his two passengers – a 25 year old man and a 23 year old woman – had minor injuries.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, which is based in Chadwell Heath, are trying to piece together what happened. They would like to hear from anyone who was in the Roneo Corner area in the early hours of 5th November – especially if they saw the BMW driving along or the moment when it overturned.
