AN EAST LONDON resident has appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, charged with dissemination of terrorist material contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
He has been named as Shehroz Iqbal, 29 of East London. His address has not been made public. He was arrested by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command on 6th April on suspicion of committing the offence with which he was charged the following day.
Iqbal was held in custody at an East London police station until his Court appearance on 8th April. At Court, he was remanded, in custody, to appear at the Old Bailey on 7th May.
