Tower Hamlets Council is laying on a range of free Easter events during the Easter holiday.
The Children’s Playground in Mile End Park, Locksley Street, will be hosting a fortnight of fun activities from until Friday, 10th April. Highlights include an egg hunt from 11am to 2pm on Sunday, 5th April at which children and young people will have the chance to track down delicious treats and decorate their own eggs. On Friday, 10th April there will be an afternoon of arts and crafts, games and much more from 1pm-3pm. Other activities which will be taking place during the fortnight include making daffodil windmills, wax bunting and stickers. To find out more call 020-7364 2253.
Over at Victoria Park, on Wednesday, 8th April (11am-3pm), young people can try out their stunts, flips and air tricks at the Urban Wheelers Jam in Victoria Park organised by the council’s parks and sports team. The wheel park boasts a full cradle and coaches will be available throughout the day demonstrating how to do tricks. Free activities on the day will include skateboarding lessons, an urban climbing wall, BMX biking, music, street dancing and a live graffiti wall.
The Idea Stores will be holding a range of free events during the Easter break. The Idea Store Chrisp Street has a regular Art Club on Sundays at 2.15pm. Art Clubs throughout April will have an Easter theme. The weekly sessions explore art and art-based techniques, explore famous artists and look at how illustrations complement and enhance a story. Over at Idea Store Watney Market, join in a day of fun on Saturday, 4th April with face painting and Easter bonnet making. Activities start at 11.15am.
