Regular East London News contributor Emdad Rahman has been made a Freeman of the City of London. The award was made after the Court of Common Council passed an order for his admission.
Emdad attended a short Freedom ceremony at the Chamberlain’s Court Room in the Guildhall. He was presented with a Freedom certificate by Murray Craig – the Clerk to the Chamberlain’s Court.
Speaking after the ceremony Emdad said: “I am delighted to receive such prestigious recognition. I am a very proud Londoner and it has been an honour to be considered let alone be admitted to the Freedom of the City of London.”
