Inner London Football League officials Koys Miah, Rashid Ali and Nanu Miah have conducted the draw for the veterans World Cup 2018. England will face Algeria, Morocco and South Africa, while Group B pits Jamaica, Colombia, Brazil and Bangladesh against each other.
The group heats will see each team face each other in a league format, with the top two proceeding through to the semi finals. The last four knockout stage and final will be played on the same day.
Also in attendance at the live draw were Mamun Uddin, Sisa Mbekeni, Noor Huq, Javier Riveria and Emdad Rahman, who are managing England, South Africa, Brazil, Colombia and Bangladesh respectively.
Speaking after the draw, ILFL Chair Koys Miah said, “There are some quality teams participating and we are all expecting some mouthwatering football on what is guaranteed to be a historic day of celebration.”
Vice Chair Rashid Ali added, “We’re proud to showcase the diversity of our country and through football we have an opportunity to highlight the positive aspects of our community. This event will bring our communities together.”
The Inner London Football League veterans World Cup takes place on Sunday 8th July, from 10 am.
