Get Online Week starts on 12th October, so make the most of the free activities being offered by the Council from Monday until next Sunday, 18th October.
Hundreds of local residents joined in the week last year and took their first steps online. Some set up their first email accounts, other learned how to shop online or to do internet banking. This year, residents will also be able to take an online simulation of the UK’s driving theory tests and learn how to keep children safe from potential dangers on-line.
Cllr David Edgar, lead member for Digital Inclusion, said: “In an environment where people are struggling to make ends meet, it is increasingly important to make the most of online possibilities. Accessing the best utility offers, improving your employability and saving time by paying bills online are just a few of the ways that Getting Online can help.”
